The Squirrel Magazines were the most used BRGS Newsletter. Other, less widely known magazines included the Daphnephora, The Journal, Outlook, and the Opsis.
School magazines have now been pretty much replaced by the BRGS Website and the Friends of BRGS Newsletter. This is a shame as the BRGS Website is rarely updated and the Friends of BRGS Newsletter is heavily factual and mainly just covers the school's achievements rather than students' opinions and other fun little things.
If anyone finds themselves with way too much time on their hands I'm sure many would welcome a revival of The Squirrel rather than the current newsletters...
Each Squirrel magazine would have a unique cover, drawn by some of the more artistically able students, and (perhaps unsurprisingly) usually depicted a squirrel.
Throughout the Squirrel would be club reports, sports teams results, and 'form reports' which would be a quick amusing introduction to the form and would be written by the form members. There may also be quizzes such as 'catchphrase competitions' or 'guess the teacher' and show images of them as kids.
Of course, there would also need to be some fact and so students would add their experiences on school trips or have news of former students.
